Although most sanctions exist in the form of an administrative ine, violating the Environmental Law and its secondary legislation may also lead to criminal liability for the polluter.
For 2019, the administrative ines due to non-compliance with the Environmental Law and its secondary legislation may reach up to TRY 6,017,320 depending on the severity of the reach. Each year, applicable administrative ine is increased pursuant to a rate announced by the President.
